"An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and
converting its opponents. What does happen is that its opponents gradually die out and that
the growing generation is familiar with the idea from the beginning. "
Max Planck

Over the last six months, The War Zone has been deeply reporting on a set of bizarre patents assigned to the U.S. Navy. The patents, which are all the product of a single inventor, truly sound like the stuff of science fiction and include high-temperature superconductors, gravitational wave generators, compact fusion reactors, and high-energy electromagnetic field generators. Most radical of all is the “hybrid aerospace-underwater craft” claimed to be able to “engineer the fabric of our reality at the most fundamental level” by seemingly bending the laws of physics as we know them. "I am an ophthalmologist with a quantum perspective. I am dedicated to educating the masses about the quantum effects of the modern environment on health and disease and how to use a proper light environment to optimize Circadian biology and mitochondrial health." S. Jacob Montgomery Jr. MD

The Hippies Were Right: It's All about Vibrations, Man!

"My colleague Jonathan Schooler of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and I think they effectively did, with the radical intuition that it’s all about vibrations … man. Over the past decade, we have developed a “resonance theory of consciousness” that suggests that resonance—another word for synchronized vibrations—is at the heart of not only human consciousness but of physical reality more generally." Tam Hunt

Here is the article from the Scientific American.

California company NDB says its nano-diamond batteries will absolutely upend the energy equation, acting like tiny nuclear generators. They will blow any energy density comparison out of the water, lasting anywhere from a decade to 28,000 years without ever needing a charge. They will offer higher power density than lithium-ion. They will be nigh-on indestructible and totally safe in an electric car crash. And in some applications, like electric cars, they stand to be considerably cheaper than current lithium-ion packs despite their huge advantages. Here is a link.

"Newsflash; real science is based on facts not “consensus”. I’m sick and tired of idiots beating me over the head with pseudoscience instead of sticking to the cold, hard facts. Show me the hard data that standing six feet from someone is necessary. Show me the hard data that wearing any old rag on my face is going to materially stop the spread of a virus. Show me the hard data that enjoying fresh air and sunshine outdoors could be an invitation to an early death". This is the beginning of an interesting article titled Science is NOT about Consensus written by jeff harris. It recounts the attempt by Dr. Semmelweis to convince his peers to wash their hands and the problem of entrenched ideas and the difficulty changing them in the field of medicine. Read the article

Using the venom from 312 honeybees and bumblebees in Perth Western Australia, Ireland and England, Dr Ciara Duffy from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and The University of Western Australia, tested the effect of the venom on the clinical subtypes of breast cancer, including triple-negative breast cancer, which has limited treatment options.

Results published in the journal npj Precision Oncology revealed that honeybee venom rapidly destroyed triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer cells. Read the article in Science Daily.

Scientists at the University of Maryland reported last week that they’ve discovered a way to treat wood to make it 12 times stronger than natural wood and 10 times tougher. According to Liangbing Hu, one the lead researchers in the paper published in Nature, their wood is so strong and durable that it can compete with steel, titanium alloys, and even carbon fiber–but at an infinitely much lower price point.
